The South African thatching reed is a very handsome, fast growing Restio bearing clumps of thin, dark green stems, from which attractive, dark brown flower spikes appear in summer and autumn. An excellent species for windy sites and coastal exposure. Prefers a free draining site in full sun. Hardy to -8. Height & spread: 1.5 x 1 meter.
